EUPHORIA by Ministry of Sound presents...

Save The Robots @ The Deq - An innovation selection will break new sounds and styles to a crowd seeking something different. Expect the unexpected - this is our research and development laboratory, testing new global trends on the local psyche.
--- Feat. Dezz ---

Dezz speaks of tasteful musical sense that is much supported by many experienced DJs around town. Being very much a part of the dance scene since his teen years has definitely helped much in cultivating his knowledge and preference for playing his own fusion and eclectic sound that can be described as deep, progressively melodic and techy to permanently engraving his name into the industry. After receiving overwhelming response since its inception, he started his own night “Midnight Funk Association” and “Sublime” which sees him supplying his own blend of exceptional experience in music to offer a genuine alternative

SPECIAL GUEST: GAIJIN (MAL)

Gaijin, is derived from a Japanese word meaning "foreigner" or "outsider". The word is composed of gai (outside) and jin (person), so the word can be translated literally as outside (foreign) person." It reflects the ways he feels as he stands out amongst others in the multifaceted Malaysian society.

Despite being very much of a newcomer, he is well-versed in the local electronic music scene. His first exposure to electronic music was in 7-8 years ago in the legendary clubs namely Movement and Backroom. With international DJ’s rocking the clubs week in and week out he didn’t miss any chance to hits the clubs. There he was exposed to the driving beats of maestros such as Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Technasia, Ken Ishii, Sven Vath, Danny Tenaglia, Frankie Knuckles and the legendary duo Sasha and John Digweed.

After moving on from there, he attended various other raves and club events. Some of the most memorable ones are the Full Moon Party in Koh Pha Ngan, Zouk Out, Global Gathering, Future Music Festival and many more. This left such a deep impact within himself that created this burning passion to explore deeper into the magical wonder of electronic dance music. Why you may ask? It’s because he wasn’t content with just being on the dance floor feeling the thumping basslines and the pulsating beats… Now he wants to experience the joy of playing in front of a crowd and make them move to the grooves he brings to the floor. This is when he decided to enroll for DJ lessons at the Royale DJ Academy under the guidance of Bryan Burger in February 2008.

In his quest to entertain his audience to sounds ranging from Deep House, House, Tech House, Minimal and Techno, he spends endless hours daily to find the perfect tracks to entertain them and leave a lasting impact. His influences are very eclectic and diverse to say the least ranging mainly from producers such as Steve Angello, Grant Nelson and ATFC to Booka Shade, Ilario Alicante, Steve Lawler, Hugo, Livio & Roby, Alex Niggemann, Format: B, Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin amongst others.

After placing 4th in the recent Juice DJ Quest Finals 2008 and being crowned the champion of the recent Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2008, the future is looking bright for this hard-working newcomer in the scene.

His ultimate dream would be to play in legendary clubs such as Cocoon (Germany), Watergate (Germany), Pacha (Ibiza), and Space (Ibiza) or in a massive rave such as the Love Parade (Berlin), Exit (Serbia), or Coachella (US). Who says dreams can’t come true? Impossible is nothing man… Till then, see you rocking to Gaijin on dance floor!

SPECIAL GUEST: DREW TUDOSE (ROM)

Drew first set foot inside a DJ booth at the age of 16 but it wasn’t until 20 that he even began to consider a serious career as a DJ. Meanwhile
music was still playing a big part in his life and he experimented with hip hop and rap as a band member and lyrics writer.

Spinning music for enraptured crowds remained his dream over the years though and he started his DJ career playing house and progressive in the days these genres were starting their ascent into
mainstream.

After a few years of looking for the right niche in a growing market he moved into breakbeat and started having regular gigs in well-known Romanian clubs and festivals.

He established his name in the business when he spent the following year in Rotterdam, Holland playing guest sets in famous edgy clubs like
Now&Wow and Bootleg DJ Café.

In 2004 Drew moved to Asia to explore new music dimensions and chose Hong Kong as his first destination. With the breaks scene very small in a market dominated by mainstream music Drew spent 6 months back in the House territory performing at Zizz Club and other venues before making his way to Vietnam.

Since settling in Ho Chi Minh City Drew helped the house and tech house scene to get a new direction and identity and he’s still pushing the market in new creative directions by bringing in new sounds and new technical approaches to the ever evolving Vietnamese music environment. In Vietnam he played countless corporate and private parties and is actively involved in DJ/Live performance with other fellow DJ’s and producers.

Beyond his DJ skills Drew has been involved for many years in venue music management and direction, TVC music production and music
strategy development.

Currently his sets are based on electro-house and tech-house sounds, strongly influenced by the European clubbing scene but still incorporating Asian club trends and culture.
