SPECIAL GUEST: SPACE DJZ (UK)

There are few Djz and producers in the modern techno world who can truly claim to have pioneered a style and sound, and call it their own. Such statements are often declared, but rarely justified. In the case of Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire, the names behind the revered Space DJz this claim would be unarguable.

Ever since the pair's formation in the early 1900's their unerring ability to fuse raucous techno with their life long love of Hip Hop, has set them aside from there peers. In the present day, an abundance of UK techno producer's have emerged, none would deny The Space Djz are true innovators. In 1995 the duo released their debut Ep Space DJz on the legendary and now defunked Infonet imprint, quickly followed up by an outing on the Belgium label Reload These two projects put them on the techno map but the real turning point arrived in early 1996 on Infonet with the release of the ..Return to earth', Ep, containing the techno anthems ..Side on', and ..Rock the house'.Both trakz would blow up to be huge and be re-released via Frankfurt based Ongaku .The combined output of both releases was over 10,000 copies and along side Dave Clarks Red 1 these were two of the biggest tunez of the year and are still much sought after and played to this day. The Djz became prize catches for major playerz Nova Mute and Soma contributing several more classic releases, culminating in 1999's critically acclaimed album ..On Patrol... The album expressed Ben and Jamie's roots perfectly, combining their now infamous hip hop influences with their unique brand of analog techno and chaotic electronic soundscapes.

Later that year The Space Djz delivered a trak that was to become one of their biggest hitz to date AK 47 a trak that had originally been heard on a Nova Mute Compilaton was reworked and served to capture the period's riotus spirit of techno. Listening to that record, one would imagine was like being attacked with a chainsaw buy an electronic chicken, simply brutal. It was released as a double pack on Ben Long's highly regarded Potential Recordingz and featured remixes by many of techno's biggest namez including Umek, The Advent, Gaetano Parisio, Oliver Ho, Inigo Kennedy, Chris McCormack.

During 2001 Ben and Jamie also able to concentrate on their solo projects working with labels such as Consumer Recreation, CLR, Primate, PrimeEvil, Tortured, Advanced, Eukatech, Speilzeug, and the running of their own labelz Potential Recordingz, Ergonomix, ReRub , 50hz, Ground, Foundation and Target. Jamie also released a Bandulu album Redemption with Music Man. 2002 saw the welcome return of The Space Djz on Blly Nasty's Tortured imprint with the Faces of Pain double pack, their first release together in almost two years, and a double mix Cd was released on Primal Rythms entitled The Last Djz on Earth. They were back and they were better then ever.

During this time, and indeed long before, The Space Djz have been renowned the world over for their breathtaking skillz behind the deckz. Whether working as a team or individually, Ben and Jamie consistently deliver astounding performances .. Dj' ing to them is an art, and with over ten yearz on the world Dj circuit they have the knowledge and experience to rock any party right.

EVOLUTION #028 with special guest, CITIZEN KAIN (FRA) [27 MAR 2010]

Tune into EVOLUTION on UB RADIO, Bangkok's premier internet radio station for two hours of non-stop, back to back Electronics Dance Music with DEZZ.

Enjoy the first hour mix by DEZZ, follow by a special guest mix on the second hour of the each show.

WHEN: Bi-monthly on Saturday

DATE: 27TH MARCH 2010

SPECIAL GUEST: CITIZEN KAIN (FRA)

Starting out in 2006 and at the begining a duo, Citizen Kain soon found themselves catapulted into the midst of the international scene. Initially releasing on the Barcelona label Regular, they were signed for several EPs delivering a quality Electro Techno feel before releasing their first album «Body Bombshell » in 2007.
It wasn’t until 2008 when their style began to evolve and gravitate towards a techno vibe that they really began to make the headlines. With the release of their hit « Doppelgänger » on MBF, they enjoyed playlisting across the techno community with the single finding its way through dancefloors all over the world. This was followed by several EPs on labels such as Killabeat, Malatoid, and Harthouse.

In 2009, after several releases on MBF and Playmobil, Chris left the band for professional reasons and Bruno who still had been the leader of Citizen Kain continues alone the project. He left the studio with the first two releases on his own label under his belt and built its reputation rapidly by signing up remix talent from the likes of international artists such as Pfirter, Pablo Bolivar, Abnormal Boyz, and Uto Karem as well as the best of emerging talent including Viktor Leske, Hans Bouffmyhre and Spartaque. His releases enjoy regular support from artists such as Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Monika Kruse, Felix Krocher, Len Faki, Slam, Tomcraft, Joseph Capriati, Ahmet Sendil, Mihalis Safras, Martin Eyerer, Agoria, Chris Fortier or Marc Depulse ... to named a few ...

Today, whether it be a Live session or a DJ set, Citizen Kain’s music consistently demonstrates a respect for purist techno with powerful, chunky beats carefully arranged with energetic percussion and haunting melodies. The entertaining performances and infectious energy during his sets leaves no dancefloor unturned !
Constantly in the studio, we can expect numerous releases in the months to come on Frequenza, Djanemba, Dirty Players, Beat Em Up, Boeing or Bosphorus Uderground and of course on his very own label Neverending

SPECIAL GUEST: MARK HENNING (GER)

London's Mark Henning has risen up as one of the underground's true players - recording for a volley of acclaimed international labels. Born in 1977 to English and German parents, he has spent most of his life in England, though has never forgotten his German roots and has recently relocated to Berlin. Having released his debut album ‘Jupiter Jive’ on legendary UK institution Soma Recordings in the summer of 2008 to great acclaim, followed up with eight EPs in 2009, Mark is currently concentrating on DJing and touring his Live PA all over the world. This is one artist who is really breaking out of the mold, having been picked out as a nominee for DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards for Best Breakthrough DJ 2009.

Mark Henning's sound sits somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of groove, funk, swing, deepness and weirdness - all the required ingredients to have the crowds busting crazy moves on the dancefloor. He has established his artist career not just through his productions – on well-regarded labels such as Soma, Frankie, Clink, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen, Hypercolour and Einmaleins - but also through his worldwide performances, having been booked at clubs such as Fabric, Panorama Bar, Privilege, Bar 25, The Egg, Space, Watergate, The Arches and Harry Klein to name just a few.

Mark’s tracks have been licensed to recent BUGGED OUT, FABRIC and M-NUS compilations - as well as achieving regular airplay on radio stations worldwide. His much-respected productions have been supported and played out regularly over the past few years by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Akufen, Steve Bug, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin. As a remixer, he also keeps busy - having reworked tracks by artists such as Gaetano Parisio, Mr. G, Lee Jones, Tigerskin and Chris Fortier.

Born in 1977 to English and German parents, he has spent most of his life in England, though has never forgotten his German techno roots and has recently relocated to Berlin.
