Shahril Adnan or formerly known as DJ Zaskar, a name giving audiences a hard time imagining how he’ll sound or let alone what he’ll look like – has been hitting the decks for a few years now. Being young and new in the industry certainly has its charm, but he’s definitely not a stranger in the dance music scene in Malaysia. Having witnessed most of the rave events in and around Kuala Lumpur, his passion to the scene and music grew ever since. Citing the names of famous producers from the days and age of DJ fandom, he professes his professional admiration towards DJs such as Ritchie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Sasha and John Digweed – and has since been on an endeavor to educate the masses especially Malaysian – that there are more music genre than House or Trance – is one of the changes in the scene he wishes to make one day.

Bringing his music along with him wherever he goes and having to spin at small events here and there for years earned him and his crew from Flava Events – a night at Loft, Zouk years ago. He used to spin regularly at Muse Bar, in Kuala Lumpur and often been invited to spin at parties as well. With loyal followers who dig his wide selection of Minimal to House and Techno sounds he tends to bring his nights down with infectious tunes and vibe. He incorporates his originality with some tunes, which often regarded by listeners to the likes of Gabriel Ananda to Sebastian Ingrosso. When asked what would be his ultimate dream for now at least, he mentioned spinning side by side with Carl Cox, Josh Wink, Chris Liebing and Dave Clarke.

Forward thinking, groundbreaking, precedent setting: not just the true essence of techno as his forte, but an apt way to position himself as the renowned DJ Shahril Adnan. He is much more than a dance music DJ. A child of the acid house generation, he’s been busy tinkling with the beats long before genres were but a twinkle in clubland’s eye.

Shahril Adnan was once featured in the Malay Mail newspaper in 2007 as one of the talented DJs emerging from the complexity of genre-picking among clubbers. His wide range of music comprises of house, minimal and right up to techno. He is also an excellent event organizer, having successfully organized and held Techno Night, which was titled Katapult at the Atrium Club. To make it in this scene, Shahril was also involved and had gigs all year round by being the opening act for several superb DJs and events such as Graham Gold, Cevin Fisher, ATFC, Indepen-dance 2007, New Year Eve @ Solaris with DJ Gabriel, Turn It Up Roadshow Parties 2008 and many more.

Currently, Shahril Adnan is the Resident DJ for Quack Quack Pool Party 2008-2009 and also the Resident DJ of Sultan Lounge for 2010.

Shahril indulged his passion for music from a young age, blowing all the money from his paper round on records. He progressed from making the usual tapes for his friends, put together on a cheap set of decks that he wore out learning to mix, after discovering a friend of his experimenting with different sequences on his computer. According to Shahril, “I was so amazed at what he was doing, since that moment I’ve been addicted to dance music!”

Percussions, drifty hypnotic beats, a touch of soul and marvellously deep.........house is a feeling and Ray Okpara has his finger firmly on the pulse, leading the way. Whilst his own roots are in Nigeria, it is actually Mannheim, Germany that Ray has helped put on the electronic music map, with a string of stellar productions on hot labels like Cécille, Oslo, Get Physical, Soweso and Arearemote and an indomitable DJ style that has seen him rock out the world’s great modern clubbing arenas.

With Ray’s distinctive style, it’s no surprise to learn that his early influences were hip-hop, funk and soul before the nightlife escapades of he and long-time friend Johnny D truly awoke his strong interest in electronic music. Impressed by the many different genres, the first attempt on the turntables was actually using Johnny's UK Garage Records. But the passion was sparked and Ray and Johnny began their own party, RAJO, which was hugely popular throughout the Rhein Necker Delta.

Another friend, Nick Curly, joined RAJO in 2001 and 'The Loft’ residency began in Mannheim, where the first seeds of something monumental were unwittingly being sown. The Mannheim influence, and the time Ray has spent living there, is tangible; during these years the technical elements of Ray’s sets developed and the groove began to take shape, thankfully encompassing all the early influences like soul and funk.

Berlin was calling in 2005 and beginning 4 years living in the city, Ray really started to blossom musically. The heralded DJ performances were soon accompanied by productions, such as remixes for Johnny D on Oslo and 8-bit or the Italoboyz on Get Physical. His first EP, ‘Fumnaya’ on Lomidhigh Lmtd and releases like ‘Frozen on Yellow Ice’ (Arearemote) and ‘Loving Moonbauh’ (Drumpoet Community) were instrumental in Mannheim’s explosion in 2008.

On returning to Mannheim in 2009, his Brothers EP (Oslo) was a permanent fixture in clubs across the world in in the first half of the year and is one of the 2009’s most charted tracks on Resident Advisor. On the brink of beginning his live act in 2010, two further EPs, ‘Brainows’ on Soweso and ‘Tru Crowd’ back on Area Remote put Ray Okpara on the front foot going into a new decade of continued house grooves and more good times.

A crowd teaser and crowd pleaser, constantly rocking it with music to make you smile and lose yourself in the moment, Ray Okpara is coming to get you and there is no hiding place.

Marco Duranti & Stefano Marcucci have collaborated together as producers on an eclectic range of projects. In 2006 they started Underground Loophole (UGLH). Taking a journey through various styles of electronica & being influenced by the deep Chicago & tech-house sounds that inspired them, they finally returned to innovatively fuse together house & techno. At last a duo with distinct character & individualistic productive style, could enliven the dance music scene.

2009 was a turning point year that gave rise to various hit-machine productions. Their own productions & remixes have appeared on labels such as: 8Bit, Great Stuff Recordings, Noir Music, Suara, Rawthentic Music, Monique Musique, Caramella Records, Kismet Records, Parquet Recordings & so on. Additionally, their productions have been remixed by established artists such as: Carlo Lio, Gorge, Nima Gorji, DJ Wild.

UGLH have performed in a variety of clubs & events: namely together with DJ Pierre, Martin Eyerer, Tom Pooks & Einzelkind. Their unique craft of sound blends solid, pumpin grooves that never fail to ignite the right fusion of dance-floor energy, with original & distinctive hook laden melodies. Since 2009, their special flavor of tech-house has consistently landed them in the top ten's of all the most well-known & respected DJ's, as well as repeatedly appearing in the top ten charts of retailers; Beatport & Decks.de.
